Last week, volunteers from the St. Athanasius Project Mexico Home building team traveled to Mexico as part of a Project Mexico week homebuilding week. The team, financially supported in part by Resolution Development Services visited a local site in Northern Mexico and helped with the construction of secure, safe and weathertight homes for members of the local community.
The volunteer group from St. Athanasius braved heat and humidity, as well as long days in the sun. The results are fulfilling. Not only are they building homes for some of the most impoverished families in northern Mexico, but offering those families improved economic security and hope for a brighter future.
The group went beyond the fulfillment of working to help others, but also build lasting friendships and will return home with a renewed sense of faith and hope to share with the wider community.
To date, Project Mexico has hosted well over 11,000 volunteers on our 16-acre ranch as we continue to humbly bear the burdens of others in the name of Christ.
Many of the volunteers were eager to participate but lacked the funds for transportation. This is where Resolution was happy to provide support.
